El constitucionalismo global y los retos del derecho en las ciudades inteligentes.

Abstract

This article deals with the urban progress of smart cities, which are understood as cities inclined to environmental sustainability and to build spaces for democratic participation through information technologies (ICTs) and planned management. It is hypothesized that a natural consequence of the expansion of digital governance and new sustainable development techniques is that these smart cities will also be highly interconnected cities within the framework of a very specific stage of globalization. An interconnectivity that goes beyond the logic of territorial States and that, together with the growing importance of the digital sphere, may demand new challenges in the field of Law. Hence the importance of analyzing what challenges the law can have in the context of smart and interconnected cities and how these challenges can challenge the notion of national jurisdiction. The methodology of this reflection article is based on the review of academic sources through a qualitative approach.
