Intervención educomunicativa en salud bucal a los pre-adolescentes del colegio Luis Carlos Galán Sarmiento de Girón, sede A, primer período de 2015

Abstract

The promotion and prevention in bucal health should target vulnerable populations, especially children; in order to reduce bucal diseases. Implement aeducommunicative tool on promotion and prevention of bucal health in the College pre-teens Luis Carlos Galan Sarmiento, Seat of Giron, Santander (CLCGS). Quasi-experimental before and after study; where surveys are evaluated and the educational intervention targeted to students of sixth year of CLCGS shown. The group operated tweens is 182, subject to surveys at the beginning and end of the intervention, continued focus group for one (1) month in order to assess the level of knowledge acquired in the long term. With regard to the findings of the relationship between the variable knowledge before and after sociodemographic, was noticeable in girls rated as excellent passing from 7.3% to 69.5%, with no statistical significance, knowledge are children under 12 years who have acceptable knowledge before and after 30 (71.4%) with (p = 0.001) showing statistical significance, the variable socioeconomic status no statistical significance. The multimedia tool used as support material within the facility for grades six, allowing students to gain knowledge on bucal health. The interventions of health promotion and prevention, as well designed and implemented strategies in the field of school health bucal disease, represented a significant contribution in reducing social problems and an increase in the level of knowledge of the subject by students.
