El documento describe la formulación del proyecto para ampliar el centro de investigación Invemar en Santa Marta, Colombia, a través de la creación de una biblioteca pública, un museo de historia natural marina y un auditorio. La ampliación busca implementar estrategias y parámetros bioclimáticos en el diseño para disminuir el impacto ambiental y crear un espacio armonioso con su entorno natural.
La justificación de este proyecto es proporcionar un espacio adecuado para la exhibición y recolección de especies marinas, exponer los resultados investigativos y apoyar las actividades académicas de formación en ciencias marinas para estudiantes escolares, universitarios, técnicos y turistas generando conciencia ambiental y un espacio de prácticas, lectura e información.
El objetivo de esta expansión es recuperar y almacenar material biológico obtenido de muestras y especies de ambientes marinos y costeros, para proporcionar conocimiento científico.
La metodología de diseño se basa en los capítulos de bioclimática (localización y transporte, sitio sostenible, agua, energía, materiales, y bienestar e innovación) desarrollados por el U.S. Green Building Council, y el proyecto arquitectónico se rige por la certificación LEED (Liderazgo en Energía y Diseño Ambiental) de nivel plata.
Abstract
The document describes the formulation of the project to expand the Invemar Research Center in Santa Marta, Colombia, through the creation of a public library, a marine natural history museum, and an auditorium. The extension seeks to implement strategies and bioclimatic parameters in the design to reduce environmental impact and create a harmonious space with its natural environment.
The justification of this project is to provide an adequate space for the exhibition and collection of marine species, expose the research results and support the academic activities of training in marine sciences for school students, university students, technicians and tourists discovering environmental awareness and a space for practices, reading and information.
The objective of this biological expansion is to recover and store material obtained from samples and species from marine and coastal environments, to provide scientific knowledge.
The design methodology is based on the bioclimatic chapters (location and transportation, sustainable site, water, energy, materials, and well-being and innovation) developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, and the architectural project is governed by the silver level LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.
