Este artículo presenta un estudio de movilidad intergeneracional educativa para el Departamento de Santander en el año 2015. Este tipo de movilidad social muestra si existe relación entre el nivel de estudios alcanzado por los hijos y el obtenido por sus progenitores, si los logros educativos se encuentran influenciados por los niveles de estudio alcanzados por sus padres, un individuo que haya nacido en una familia de bajos recursos presentará limitaciones para lograr modificar sus condiciones iniciales. No existe igualdad de oportunidades en una sociedad con bajos niveles de movilidad educativa, el objetivo es identificar factores determinantes y niveles de movilidad, para ello se utiliza el modelo de Markov, tomando como muestra los individuos entre los 25 y 35 años. Se encontró que en el departamento existe un bajo nivel de movilidad intergeneracional educativa, y que los logros educativos de los padres intervienen sobre los logros alcanzados por los individuos.
Abstract
This article presents a study of intergenerational educational mobility for the Department of Santander in 2015. This type of social mobility shows if there is a relationship between the level of studies reached by the children with the level of education obtained by his parents, if the educational achievements are influenced by the levels of study reached by his parents, one person who was born in a low-income family will have limitations in order to modify his initial conditions. There is no equality of opportunity in a society with low levels of educational mobility, the objective is to identify determining factors and the levels of mobility, for this one Markov model is used, taking as sample persons between 25 and 35 years old. It was found that there is a low level of intergenerational educational mobility in the department, and that the educational achievements of the parents intervene in the achievements reached by the individuals.
