Despite the increased survival rate for breast cancer, survivors are exposed to the effects of disease, which can compromise their quality of life and their ability to function. Among these effects, fatigue is present in 80% of cases and has many negative consequences, including an impaired quality of life. Adapted physical activity (APA) has proven to be an excellent therapeutic adjuvant in reducing not only fatigue but also breast cancer recurrence. The aim of this study was to assess the effects of a physical activity program on fatigue, quality of life and functional capacity of women breast cancer survivors. Materials and methods: Data were collected from 48 breast cancer survivors participating in an APA program at Clinique Saint-Vincent, in Besançon (3 times per week, 60-120 minutes per session), during the years 2015-2018. To assess fatigue, the MFI-20 questionnaire was used, the 6-minute walk test (6MWT) was used to measure functional capacity and the EORTC QLQ-30 questionnaire was used to measure quality of life. Results: The results were analyzed by the Wilcoxon test, Student’s test and Spearman Correlation. After the APA program, fatigue (total score) was reduced (p = 0.000; t = 3, 94) and overall health and quality of life improved (p = 0.002; Z = - 3.144). The 6-minute walking distance improved significantly (p ≤ 0.000; Z = -5.9). No correlation was observed between walking distance and fatigue or quality of life. On the other hand, the more fatigue is reduced, the better the quality of life. Conclusion: This 12-week program has been beneficial in fatigue and related factors such as quality of life and functional capacity in breast cancer survivors.spa
