Abstract

The Priority Interest Housing (VIP, for its acronym in Spanish), has as an objective to give a habitable space to people with low incomes. These houses are mass produced. It will be a place which will have thousands of ways of living. Also, it will generate an independent habitat in each house. This habitat is conditioned by each family, and it generates an independent and own quality. It could be understood as a particular and intimate way of inhabiting, which is expressed and lived by each type of family. The territory determines the habitat, where the culture and society develop particular ways of inhabiting. The customs of a territory like San Rafael, make those families which live there adopt particular models of living. Now, more than ever, people think about not having a large family. Since, economically it is not sustainable and the global dynamic is no longer in function of that kind of families, as it was before, because it was a tradition. The habitat is conditioned to transform and adapt it to these new ways of living. Those new ways are given due to generational changes. Although, the culture and society have a great influence on the way that any space is inhabited; we also know that the change of this culture and the thinking of the society leads to modifying the new ways of appropriating a space.
