El Conflicto Sociológico del Panorama Migratorio Aleman 2015-2022

Abstract

Germany as the leading country in economic support and the second in receiving immigrants, with historical migration flows that have represented various economic, social, and cultural challenges. Starting from the post-war period, when Germany needed not only territorial but also economic restoration, different strategies were developed to achieve this goal. It was during this time that the first migration flows occurred, and with the division of Germany into the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) and the German Democratic Republic (GDR), each opted to employ different strategies. In this context, the first flows of immigrants from various countries, who arrived temporarily, were observed. Later, with the unification of Germany following the fall of the Berlin Wall, it became apparent that progress in restoration was not the same for both parts. Many more challenges emerged from that point, where immigrant aid, although greatly beneficial, also began to reflect conflicts in terms of adaptation. This phenomenon is analyzed through the perspectives of three theorists: Talcott Parsons, Émile Durkheim, and Étienne Balibar, who help to understand the challenges presented and how they apply to the German case during 2015-2022, without neglecting its migratory history and its significance. Parsons, with his theory of social systems, emphasizes the importance of mutual adaptation between individuals and social structures. Durkheim addresses social facts and their convergence in culture, while Balibar examines the gray areas. These theoretical approaches provide a useful framework for analyzing the sociological conflicts and the challenges of integration and adaptability that Germany faces due to recent migration flows
