Actores sociales, acciones colectivas y transformación social

La Universidad Santo Tomás ha propuesto históricamente desde su reapertura en 1965 promover las diferentes funciones sustantivas para el desarrollo institucional a través de la docencia, la investigación y la proyección social. Los diversos procesos sociales expuestos en este texto permiten dar cuenta de la producción, transformación y recontextualización del conocimiento a través de la práctica, así como de los alcances que tienen los sociólogos en los territorios donde hacen investigación, investigación – intervención, formación y acompañamiento. La Facultad de Sociología ha venido reconfigurando el concepto de intervención hacia el acompañamiento comunitario, puesto que lo que se realiza es el acompañamiento a las personas que están organizadas o se quieren organizar para adelantar acciones de beneficio colectivo o bien común. El ejercicio de la sociología va orientado precisamente a poner fin a ese concepto tradicionalista sobre la acción del individuo frente a la investigación, muy distinto a esa pasividad que se tenía entendida. El sujeto y lo que le rodea, permanecen en una interacción continua; entonces, desafía y enfrenta esos cambios constantes, permitiendo así, esa interrelación y forjando una nueva percepción para concluir que son sujetos y objetos a la vez.

Abstract

Since its reopening in 1965, the Universidad Santo Tomás has historically proposed to promote the different substantive functions for institutional development through teaching, research and social projection. The different social processes set out in this text allow us to give an account of the production, transformation and recontextualisation of knowledge through practice, as well as the scope of sociologists in the territories where they carry out research, intervention, training and accompaniment. The Faculty of Sociology has been reconfiguring the concept of intervention towards community accompaniment, given that what is done is to accompany people who are organised or want to organise themselves in order to carry out actions of collective benefit or common good. The exercise in sociology is aimed precisely at putting an end to this traditionalist concept of the action of the individual in the face of research, which is very different from the passivity that had been understood. The subject and what surrounds him, remain in a continuous interaction; then, he challenges and faces those constant changes, allowing this interrelation and forging a new perception to conclude that they are subjects and objects at the same time.
