Comparación del crecimiento del Aeropuerto Vanguardia relacionado con la demografía de la ciudad de Villavicencio

Abstract

The main objective of this monograph is to compare the growth of Vanguardia Airport in relation to the demographics of the city of Villavicencio, capital of the department of Meta. In recent years, the city has experienced significant growth in its population and economy (Colombian Association of Capital Cities, 2020), thanks in part to the development of infrastructure, investment in sectors such as tourism, agriculture and livestock, consequently, the Vanguardia Airport implemented new routes and new Airlines, but a problem is the infrastructure that has the Vanguardia Airport, is becoming small for the volume of passengers it is currently handling. The airport plays an important role in the region's economy, as it promotes tourism and facilitates the transportation of goods and services. Overall, a comparison of Villavicencio's population growth and the growth of Vanguardia Airport suggests that the two variables are positively related. As the population of Villavicencio has grown, the number of passengers using the airport has also increased, which has led to an expansion of air operations in the region, but the negative impact is the airport's infrastructure needs to be expanded and facilities modernized to meet the needs of passengers.
