En esta investigación se cotejan algunos componentes importantes de la reflexión actual sobre liderazgo educativo universitario con la obra “La Universidad” de Alfonso Borrero Cabal. En esta correspondencia podemos destacar algunos criterios y rasgos importantes éticos e intencionalidades prácticas del funcionamiento organizacional que son válidos y actuales del trasegar administrativo de la educación superior. Se deriva la necesidad de conocer una serie de elementos de contexto referidos a la cultura universitaria, a los desafíos académicos y tecnológicos y a la calidad educativa inscritos en la vocación de servicio que la institución propende en la sociedad. Las distintas tensiones y entornos de relación originados al interior de la empresa universitaria ponen en vigencia la capacidad de un liderazgo que genere una sinergia de las distintas fuerzas internas del saber universitario que inciden directamente en la pertinencia, el conocimiento, la investigación y la demanda laboral en su radio de acción inclusiva y democrática.
This research compares some important components of current reflection on university educational leadership with Alfonso Borrero Cabal's work "The University." In this correspondence, we can highlight some important ethical criteria and features and practical intentions of organizational functioning that are valid and current in the administrative process of higher education. It leads to the need to understand a series of contextual elements related to university culture, academic and technological challenges, and educational quality, embedded in the institution's vocation of service to society. The various tensions and relational environments originating within the university enterprise highlight the capacity for leadership that generates a synergy of the different internal forces of university knowledge, directly impacting relevance, knowledge, research, and labor demand within its inclusive and democratic sphere of action.
