Resumen
Colombia, con su diversidad de regiones y sus dos océanos destaca por su biodiversidad resaltando la región del Chocó Para preservar estos ecosistemas, es fundamental realizar investigaciones sobre la composición y diversidad florística. Se ha calculado el índice de vulnerabilidad florística potencial (IVFP). Instituciones como el Instituto Humboldt y el Instituto de Investigaciones de la región del Pacífico son fundamentales para la investigación y conservación de la biodiversidad, aunque evidentemente carece de un centro de biodiversidad fuera de su capital.
El proyecto se centra en el Chocó, donde se identificó la necesidad de espacios educativos y científicos dedicados a la biodiversidad, lo que ha llevado a la propuesta de un centro especializado en Quibdó para fomentar las investigaciones en cuanto a biodiversidad.
Teniendo como enfoque crear un espacio que promueva la comprensión, conservación y valoración de todos los ecosistemas, centrándonos específicamente en tres puntos clave: Generar interacción entre arquitectura y naturaleza, integrar elementos que promuevan esta interacción y establecer espacios educativos para la conciencia ambiental.
Mediante entrevistas a referentes nacionales e internacionales como lo es Brigitte Baptista quien fue directora nacional del Institutito Humboldt y actualmente se desempeña como directora de la Universidad EAN, entrevista en la cual infiere que por su puesto amerita la creación de estos espacios dedicados al estudio de la biodiversidad que a su criterio si fuese clave, pero nunca se pudo desarrollar.
El proceso de dicha propuesta incluye la recopilación de información sobre biodiversidad, análisis de ecosistemas y hábitats, dando también la definición de un lugar en Quibdó. Se analizaron precedentes para definir un programa arquitectónico y desarrollar el proyecto en respuesta a las características naturales y físicas del entorno. El centro se diseña para armonizar con el paisaje y la biodiversidad local, utilizando métodos de construcción que minimicen el impacto ambiental

además de esto se implementan estrategias de diseño y construcción que promueven la eficiencia energética. Dicha propuesta incluye una variedad de espacios tanto interiores como exteriores diseñados para distintos usos y necesidades de la misma forma el centro actúa como un nexo entre los diversos ecosistemas del choco brindando información y experiencias que fomenta la compresión de la relación entre ecosistemas y hábitats de la región.

Abstract
Chocó is one of the cities that stans out for its biodiversity in Colombia. The study of flora is the most important thing to help with the conservation of these ecosystems. Some institutes such as Alexander von Humboldt Biological Resources Research Institute and Pacific Investigation Institute carry out essential work to investigation and conservation about biodiversity, but unfortunately none of them have a Research Institute in this city. The purpose of this project is to build a specialized institute which encourage the comprehension, conservation and valuate of the biodiversity and different ecosystems in Choco. Three objectives are: to generate an interaction between nature and architecture, join elements that induce this interaction and create educational spaces for environmental awareness’. Through some interviews with national and international experts on environmental issues and Biodiversity as is Brigitte Baptiste who was National Director from Humboldt Institute and She is currently the director of the EAN University, agrees with the idea to create this type of places to dedicated to study the biodiversity but so far anyone has been able to execute. The process of this proposal has the collection of information about Biodiversity, analysis of ecosystems and habitats. All this information helps us to define Quibdó as the place to the construction. Also, we analyze precedents to choose an architectural program and develop this project according to the different natural and physical characteristics from environment. The specialized institute is designed to harmonize with the local biodiversity and landscape, to use construction methods that generate little environmental impact. In addition to this, the idea is to implement strategies design and construction that encourage energy efficiency. This proposal includes variety interior and exterior spaces which have different uses and needs, at the same time this specialized institute is a connection between various ecosystems from Choco, Also, it’s able to offer information and experiences for good understanding of the relationship between ecosystems and habitats from this part of Colombia.
