Viajar por Italia complementó significativamente mi formación académica, al permitirme observar en persona los edificios que antes solo conocía a través de planos y libros. Esa experiencia directa me mostró que la arquitectura no se comprende solo desde lo técnico, sino también a través de una observación crítica del espacio, sus proporciones, materiales y contexto. Este viaje
reafirmó la importancia de conectar el conocimiento teórico con la vivencia real del entorno construido.
Ver de cerca cómo coexisten en Italia tantos estilos arquitectónicos como el románico, gótico, renacentista y barroco, me enseñó que la buena arquitectura no rechaza el pasado, sino que dialoga con él. Como arquitecta, entendí que cada proyecto puede ser un puente entre tradición e innovación, y que el valor está en cómo elegimos combinar lo que ya existe con lo que soñamos construir.
Abstract
Traveling through Italy significantly complemented my academic training, allowing me to see firsthand the buildings I had previously only known through plans and books. This direct experience showed me that architecture is not understood solely from a technical perspective, but also through a critical observation of space, its proportions, materials, and context. This trip reaffirmed the importance of connecting theoretical knowledge with the real-life experience of the built environment. Seeing up close how so many architectural styles, such as Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque, coexist in Italy taught me that good architecture does not reject the past, but rather engages in dialogue with it. As an architect, I understood that each project can be a bridge between tradition and innovation, and that the value lies in how we choose to combine what already exists with what we dream of building.
