Abstract

The purpose of this project was to analyze the atmospheric emissions generated by vehicles for public use (buses, minibuses and buses) that are part of the vehicle fleet of the Villavicencio-Meta municipality, with the aim of investigating the relationship between atmospheric emissions and antiquity. of the vehicles that produce them; according to this objective, two sources of secondary information were related: the age of the vehicles represented by their manufacturing model and the measurement of the polluting gases recorded in their mechanical engineering review; the development of the project required the collection of information from the mobility secretary, with which it was possible to verify the total amount of the city's automotive fleet and specifically the buses, minibuses and buses registered in Villavicencio, in addition, the Center's contribution was fundamental of Automotive Diagnostic (CDA) which contributed to the project the emission measurements of gases made in the mechanical technical review to the study vehicles for this project during a period of five years (2012-2016); Once the information was acquired, it was filtered and organized in databases in a way that it was possible to identify the variables under study and start the statistical analysis by implementing the RStudio Desktop software version 1.0.153, after the data processing the results after five years of use marked a progressive increase in atmospheric emissions, reaching a growth of up to 10% opacity in vehicles for public use; This is why the management of importance for this study began, presenting to the municipal mobility secretary the plan for the valuation, analysis and implementation of control systems for polluting emissions for outdated vehicles.
