Abstract

The culture of the artisans of the municipality of Leticia, Amazonas, reflects a deep connection with their natural environment and cultural heritage, however, this population faces various difficulties to market and make visible their products, train, mobilize raw materials, as well as organize themselves in community to expand the market for their products and be able to set similar prices that reflect the true value of their work. To face these challenges and support the socioeconomic and cultural development of the artisan community of Leticia, the architectural project of an Artisan Center is proposed, as a space dedicated to the promotion, preservation and development of local craftsmanship, where artisans can create, exhibit, sell and teach their traditional products and techniques. More than an artisan market, the Artisan Center seeks to promote respect for local culture and traditions, as well as promote the economic and social development of local communities.
