La modelo “tortura del hacinamiento”

Abstract

This research arose two years ago due to the need to make a problem visible, which although it is getting worse every day, does not have the media resonance that it should have. That is why we demonstrate the prison crisis represented in the overcrowding of the “La Modelo” prison in Bogotá, created for 2909 inmates and that today houses more than 7000. The overcrowding in this penitentiary center has generated the violation of the Human Rights of the inmates, who according to the law, should only lose the rights to free movement, but due to the deplorable conditions in which the prisons of our country are, they live scenarios of unhealthiness and violation of their institutional rights. But, the aspect to which we made the most relevance, is the suffering to which the relatives of the inmates are subjected at the time of visiting him in prison and the "torture" to which they are subjected without having committed any crime. That is why this investigation shows the story of those people who, because they have a family member in prison, also suffer their own sentence.
