Abstract

This research project focuses on the cultural and creative industries in the city of Villavicencio, Meta. The identified problem is the lack of urban facilities that address the spatial requirements for managing and promoting this industry. Therefore, the main objective was to design a building complex that fulfills the spatial needs for organizing and showcasing cultural and creative industries. In order to achieve this objective, a selection of architectural projects was studied, providing a background understanding of urban facilities for creative industries. These projects were analyzed to establish the program requirements for the pavilion, which would address the spatial needs for managing and promoting cultural and creative industries. The principles established in the design of the new building were also applied. Solving this problem is crucial to contribute to the generation of new technological innovation systems and the establishment of micro-enterprises and ventures. Without this project, the socialization and promotion of these initiatives would not be possible. The methodology employed for designing an urban facility that caters to the spatial needs of managing and promoting cultural and creative industries is a combination of historical research and case study analysis from the formal sphere. These two aspects are correlated to form the methodology known as project research, as defined by Jorge Sarquis. Through the development of this work, it has become evident that the implementation of creative and cultural industries is of great significance for Villavicencio. It emerges as an alternative for visualizing entrepreneurship and companies that drive the growth of this important sector in the economy.
