In recent years, morbidity and mortality caused by CNCDs are considered one of the most important factors that affect public health and economies worldwide (1). According to WHO data, in 2008, about 63% of deaths occurred worldwide were due to CNCD (2). Furthermore, in developing countries it has been established that approximately 80% of deaths occur for this reason (3,4). In the case of Latin America, CNCDs are the main causes of death and their influence on the health of the child and adult population is forecast to continue increasing. A 50% increase in diabetes cases has been considered for the year 2030 (5,6).eng
