Cuando la educación rescata vidas

Abstract

The radio program reflected on education as a tool for social transformation, drawing on the thought of Paulo Freire. It highlighted how educational processes, beyond the classroom, contribute to inclusion, dignity, and the construction of life projects among vulnerable populations. The guest, Gabriel Hernán García Rivera, presented the work of IDIPRON in Bogotá, emphasizing its evolution toward flexible education models aimed at children, adolescents, and young people in contexts of high social vulnerability. The discussion also addressed the current challenges faced by these groups and the need for innovative institutional responses. The program underscored the role of universities and Learning and Research Resource Centers (CRAI) as key spaces for promoting access to knowledge, reading, and social transformation, through interinstitutional partnerships that strengthen educational opportunities. Finally, the audience was invited to participate in the Bogotá International Book Fair 2026 as a space for dialogue on education, inclusion, and innovation.
