| dc.description.abstract | The Competitive Intelligence Report for the Creation of the Specialization in Regenerative Economy for Construction Innovation examines the academic, labor market, and scientific relevance of this proposed graduate program through an analysis of the national educational landscape, employability indicators, research capacities, and international trends in the field. The findings reveal a favorable environment for its development, as comparable academic offerings are concentrated in Bogotá and Antioquia, with no equivalent programs identified in Santander or northeastern Colombia. This creates a strategic opportunity for a differentiated program focused on regenerative economy applied to the construction sector. The study also identifies sustained demand for related programs and high levels of labor market integration, with employability rates exceeding 90% in most of the comparable specializations analyzed. In parallel, it highlights the existence of strong national research capacities in sustainability, construction, environmental studies, energy, and territorial development, as well as an academic ecosystem conducive to the integration of advanced education, research, and innovation. From a scientific perspective, the analysis of 436 publications indexed in Web of Science confirms the rapid growth of research on circular and regenerative economy applied to construction. Topics such as life cycle assessment, waste valorization, low-impact materials, BIM, Digital Twins, artificial intelligence, territorial governance, and sustainable transition models emerge as areas of particular relevance. Collectively, these findings highlight opportunities to consolidate an academic program aimed at transforming the built environment through technological innovation, interdisciplinary approaches, and the regeneration of territories. | |
