Pasantía en la Confederación Sudamericana de Futbol CONMEBOL

Abstract

The internship report provides a detailed overview of the activities carried out in organizing the Final of the CONMEBOL Sudamericana in the city of Punta del Este, Uruguay. Starting with the designation of the host country in April 2023, multiple technical visits were made to coordinate logistical and security aspects with local authorities. The exact date of the event was set for October 28, 2023, after which intensive planning began to ensure the success of the event. CONMEBOL staff traveled to Uruguay ten days before the match to set up and prepare for the event.

During this period, efforts were coordinated with suppliers and local authorities to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the event. Participating teams arrived three days before the match, and on the day of the final, all operational components were ready to execute the event operation. Following the successful development of the event and the crowning of Liga de Quito as the winner, the event was closed, and the corresponding administrative procedures were carried out in Paraguay.

The internship experience provided significant learning in terms of planning, operation, and execution of large-scale sports events. The importance of having well-structured administrative processes was highlighted, as well as the need to develop soft skills to work effectively in a multicultural environment. In summary, participation in the organization of this event allowed the intern to gain a deep understanding of the aspects involved in managing international sports events.
