This paper presents the design and preliminary validation of an integrated event management model applied to the simulation of the international futsal tournament “Granada Cup 2026.” The study follows and applied and mixed-methods approach: (i) a literature review to structure sport events as projects with phases and functional areas; (ii) development of key deliverables (operational plan, marketing plan, logistics plan, and risk matrix); and (iii) preliminary validation through expert judgment and pilot testing of control instruments (checklists and satisfaction survey), incorporating perceived service quality measurement based on an adapted SERVQUAL approach. Results are presented as an operational framework linking functional areas, responsibilities, KPIs, and control tools, emphasizing the quality–value–satisfaction–intention chain. The findings suggest that treating the event as both a strategic business unit and a project improves alignment between objectives, operations, and attendee experience. The paper concludes with recommendations for ex post evaluation, local economic impact considerations, and continuous improvement for small- and medium-scale international sport events.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Pasantía en el Instituto para el Fomento del Deporte, la Recreación, el Aprovechamiento del Tiempo Libre y la Educación Física de Barrancabermeja(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-04-16) Calderón Rueda, Iván Andrés; Niño García, Nelson Ariel; Universidad Santo TomásThis practical exercise was carried out at the Institute for the Promotion of Sports, Recreation, Leisure, and Physical Education of Barrancabermeja (INDERBA) during the first and second semesters of 2025. Its purpose was to support the organization of the Intercollegiate Games at the municipal level and to systematize the registration, participation, and results processes for the sports activities. The official database of 3,108 athletes registered in 27 educational institutions was analyzed, and participant observation was conducted at technical meetings, registration days, and competitions. Data collection revealed that 73% of registrations were concentrated in two specific time periods, a 20% gender gap (60% male, 40% female), and participation from categories other than the Youth and Pre-Youth categories, in which the majority of registered athletes were enrolled. Finally, it is noted that in the departmental qualifying phase Barrancabermeja obtained two championships (pre-youth female and male futsal) and a runner-up title (youth male futsal) with qualification for the national phase.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Caracterización de las Escuelas de Formación Deportiva del Municipio de Ipiales, Nariño.(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-02-12) Mueses Chaspuengal, José Francisco; García González, Daniel Efrén; Niño García, Nelson Ariel; Universidad Santo TomásGiven the growing importance of youth sports in Colombia and the interest of public and private institutions in the administrative, pedagogical, and organizational management of these sports initiation centers, this study aimed to characterize 12 Sports Training Schools (EFD) in the municipality of Ipiales, Nariño, from sociodemographic and administrative perspectives. The study analyzed their administrative and organizational structure, compliance with Law 181 of 1995, community impact, and function within the local sports context. The methodology employed a descriptive quantitative approach through surveys administered to 12 EFD coordinators, 165 parents, and 286 children aged 5 to 14. Results indicate sustained growth in sports school establishment; however, many centers face difficulties including lack of regulatory knowledge, strategic planning deficiencies, financial weakness, and insufficient training of human talent in administrative and pedagogical areas. The study concludes the need to diversify sports offerings, promote gender equity, professionalize institutional management, and ensure financial sustainability. Addressing these challenges will improve athletic performance and contribute to the well-being and holistic development of communities where these schools operate.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Informe de pasantía – departamento de deportes Universidad EAFIT sede Medellin(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-21) Arenas Tangarife, SebastiánThe academic internship was carried out in the Sports Department of Universidad EAFIT, within the framework of the Santander 2025 National University Games, one of the most important university sporting events in the country. This is a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study. A documentary review was conducted on a final sample of 380 establishments, evaluating variables regarding infrastructure, digital presence, service modality, and rates. The results show a marked digital gap, where 56.3% of gyms use Instagram as their primary communication channel, compared to a reduced 41.3% that have their own website. Furthermore, it was identified that the face-to-face offer remains predominant (94.2%), evidencing stagnation in the mass transition towards virtual models. It is concluded that there is a structural differentiation in the market: Bogotá presents a more formal and expensive model, focused on comprehensive services, while Medellín exhibits greater Sunday schedule flexibility, with a wide offer of group classes.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Pasantía en Instituto Departamental de Recreación y Deportes de Santander(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-26) Restrepo Arciniegas, Ivan Andrés; Layla Fadia Assiz Lizarazo; Universidad Santo TomásThe purpose of this degree project was to describe and analyze the experience gained during the professional internship carried out at the Departmental Institute of Recreation and Sport of Santander (INDERSANTANDER), specifically in the high-performance area, as a requirement to obtain the degree of Specialist in Sports Administration. This required coordination with the Casanare Institute of Sports and Recreation (Indercas), with which an agreement was reached to establish a collaboration and public interest contract, changing the traditional way it had previously been done. In the past, the process consisted of publishing the contract on the Secop II platform, allowing any qualified contractor to bid and execute it. One of the major challenges in signing this contract was gathering the required documentation, which was extensive and time-consuming. However, all the necessary procedures were successfully completed to compile and submit it. The second objective—achieving national participation with good results—was fulfilled, and the process concluded with the submission of the documentation required for the termination of the contract. The knowledge acquired in the Sports Administration specialization classes was put into practice. It is essential to maintain strong relationships with directors of different institutions to secure such support, as well as to have good organizational skills. The internship provided valuable experience in handling all the documentation required for the signing and termination of contracts. It can be said that learning to execute these contracts was worthwhile, as they bring significant benefits to the athletes.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Informe de opción de grado pasantias en el club la tricolor(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-20) Roa Pinilla, Cristian Orlando; Niño Garcia, Nelson Ariel; Universidad Santo TomásBased on the knowledge acquired during the two semesters of the Specialization in Sports Administration, offered by Universidad Santo Tomás, Bucaramanga campus, and with the support of its academic and administrative staff, a comprehensive training process was carried out, grounded in rigorous academic study and the disciplinary contributions of the professors responsible for each course, according to their respective areas of expertise. Throughout this period, knowledge was consolidated on the basis of theoretical and scientific foundations related to organization, strategic planning, resource management, human talent management, and other essential components of sports administration. This academic preparation enabled the proper execution of the internship at the football club “La Tricolor,” a sports training center that currently has more than 300 athletes in formative development, oriented toward professional football.
