El objetivo del presente artículo es hacer una aportación al debate abierto dentro de los estudios tomistas acerca de la trascendentalidad de la belleza. Para conseguir este propósito, se divide el texto en tres partes. En un primer momento, se examina el fragmento clásico donde el Angélico presenta la deducción sistemática de los trascendentales; en segundo lugar, se ubica dentro de esta deducción a la belleza —que no figura en ella de manera explícita—; y, por último, en un tercer momento conclusivo, se da razón de este silencio.
The aim of this article is to make a contribution to the open debate about the transcendence of beauty in Aquinas’ philosophy. To achieve this purpose, the text is divided into three parts. First, the classical fragment where the Angelic presents the systematic deduction of the transcendentals is examined; second, beauty is located within this deduction; and, finally, in a third concluding part, the reason of this silence is given.
O objetivo deste artigo é dar uma contribuição ao debate aberto sobre a transcendência da beleza na filosofia de Aquino. Para atingir esse propósito, o texto é dividido em três partes. Em primeiro lugar, examina-se o fragmento clássico em que o Angélico apresenta a dedução sistemática dos transcendentais; em segundo lugar, localiza-se a beleza dentro dessa dedução; e, finalmente, em uma terceira parte conclusiva, apresenta-se a razão desse silêncio.
