La República Islámica de Afganistán es un Estado que en la actualidad enfrenta un caso ante la Corte Penal Internacional por diferentes crímenes de lesa humanidad y crímenes de guerra presuntamente cometidos desde 2002. Este podcast busca ofrecerle al oyente tres aspectos en específico: a) Una breve introducción sobre el Derecho Penal Internacional y el Sistema de Corte Penal Internacional, b) Un sucinto relato acerca del contexto histórico y de violencia que ha tenido lugar en el territorio afgano, y c) Un análisis del procedimiento que se ha adelantado ante la Corte Penal Internacional en relación con la República Islámica de Afganistán, para intentar comprender las razones por las que este Estado se encuentra bajo la lupa de este tribunal internacional. Abstract
The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is a State that is currently facing a case before the International Criminal Court for different crimes against humanity and war crimes allegedly committed since 2002. This podcast seeks to offer the listener three specific aspects: a) A brief introduction on International Criminal Law and the International Criminal Court System, b) A brief account about the historical context and violence that has taken place in the Afghan territory, and c) An analysis of the procedure that has been carried out before the International Criminal Court in relation to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to try to understand the reasons why this State is under the scrutiny of this international court.
