Abstract

In the Archipelago of San Andrés Providencia and Santa Catalina there is a great cultural diversity, where each one has different ways of expressing it; this situation affects all the cultures that are part of this socio-cultural process. The Flowers Hill Billingual School is immersed in this cultural reality that exists within the educational community, because it affects the communication between cultures that take place in this institution. The coexistence has been complex considering that each individual brings with him his own history and his narratives do it in a different way. This situation also affects the students from the Raizales due to their characteristics, where they are introverted, they reflect little of their feelings and desires; this is how weakness is also observed in the processes of teaching and learning. Each student has a different story and wants to tell it in a particular way, through the specifics of the cultures in which they are involved. This research aims to understand the coexistence in cultural diversity that from the narrative built by students, teachers and directors of the Flowers Hill Billingual School, and where it was based on theoretical references that are directly related to the problem observed in that educational institution; some relevant are culture, coexistence, narratives, who are the roots and the importance for them of their Creole language, how they live together in their environment; many of these references were taken from the theories of Taylor, Husserl, Elbaz, Bruner, Asher and Rose, Giroux, Forbes Okley, among others.
