| dc.description | Las regiones biodiversas de la selva central de Perú y la Orinoquía enfrentan graves problemas ambientales y socioeconómicos. La deforestación, impulsada por la intensificación de la actividad agrícola y la ganadería, ha reducido drásticamente los hábitats naturales, afectando negativamente a las especies nativas. Esta pérdida de biodiversidad se agrava con la contaminación del agua local, comprometiendo la salud de las comunidades que dependen de estos recursos esenciales. Además, la emisión de carbono resultante de la deforestación contribuye al cambio climático, exacerbando sus efectos sobre los ecosistemas y las poblaciones humanas. La sobreexplotación de recursos naturales, como la madera y la tierra agrícola, ha llevado a la degradación del suelo y a la pérdida de servicios ecosistémicos, afectando los medios de vida y el desarrollo económico local. La necesidad de implementar prácticas sostenibles que promuevan la restauración ecológica y la captura de carbono es urgente para mejorar la resiliencia climática y asegurar un desarrollo sostenible en estas áreas. El proyecto busca revertir estos impactos negativos y fomentar la sostenibilidad a largo plazo de los recursos naturales. Mediante la integración de paisajes, el análisis de biodiversidad y calidad del agua, el monitoreo del suelo y la implementación de estrategias de captura de carbono, se pretende mejorar los impactos ambientales y socioeconómicos y recuperar servicios ecosistémicos vitales para el bienestar humano y la conservación de la biodiversidad. Para garantizar el éxito y la sostenibilidad del proyecto, se implementará un riguroso monitoreo de parámetros clave. Esto incluye el seguimiento continuo de la biodiversidad mediante inventarios de flora y fauna y estudios de diversidad genética, análisis de la calidad del suelo para mantener condiciones óptimas, y el monitoreo de la calidad del agua mediante análisis de pH, turbidez y contaminantes. Además, se medirá el carbono almacenado en la biomasa y el suelo, y se usarán modelos para estimar el secuestro de carbono. | dc.description.abstract | The biodiverse regions of the central Peruvian jungle and the Orinoquía are facing severe environmental and socioeconomic challenges. Deforestation, driven by intensified agricultural activity and livestock farming, has drastically reduced natural habitats, negatively impacting native species. This loss of biodiversity is further exacerbated by local water contamination, compromising the health of communities dependent on these essential resources. Additionally, carbon emissions resulting from deforestation contribute to climate change, worsening its effects on ecosystems and human populations. The overexploitation of natural resources, such as timber and agricultural land, has led to soil degradation and the loss of crucial ecosystem services, affecting local livelihoods and economic development. There is an urgent need to implement sustainable practices that promote ecological restoration and carbon capture to enhance climate resilience and ensure sustainable development in these areas. This project aims to reverse these negative impacts and promote the long-term sustainability of natural resources. By integrating landscapes, analyzing biodiversity and water quality, monitoring soil conditions, and implementing carbon capture strategies, the project seeks to improve environmental and socioeconomic impacts and restore vital ecosystem services for human well-being and biodiversity conservation. To ensure the success and sustainability of the project, rigorous monitoring of key parameters will be implemented. This includes continuous tracking of biodiversity through flora and fauna inventories and genetic diversity studies, soil quality analysis to maintain optimal conditions, and water quality monitoring through pH, turbidity, and contaminant analysis. Additionally, carbon stored in biomass and soil will be measured, and models will be used to estimate carbon sequestration.
