Trading world elite S.A.S.: Estrategias exportadora y resiliencia logistica en el canal de Panama

Abstract

In this essay, I analyze how my experience at the Panama Canal deepened my understanding of the relationship between this infrastructure and the export competitiveness of Trading World Elite S.A.S., the company I am part of. Being located in Colombia represents a strategic advantage, as proximity to both the Caribbean and the Pacific allows us to access the canal with relative ease and project our products to markets across different continents. However, during the visit I identified a contradiction that I had not previously perceived so clearly: although the canal offers efficiency, global connectivity, and a highly structured operation, the country’s internal infrastructure—especially roads, ports, and transportation times—introduces limitations that reduce our ability to fully take advantage of these benefits.
