Abstract

A problem associated with the stage of adolescence in recent years is teenage pregnancy, an event that has become a public health problem worldwide and especially in developing countries such as those in Latin America and the Caribbean, where it is shown that the fertility rate in the adolescent population is the second highest in the world.

The effects associated with teenage pregnancy in Colombia are diverse and can have long-term implications at a personal, family, social, cultural and economic level, which is why it is important to identify and analyze the determining factors associated with the high incidence of these cases. , at an individual, interpersonal and contextual level and in this way identify whether sexual and reproductive health programs and policies are generating a positive effect in the prevention or reduction of the incidence of this event.
