Abstract

The present investigation was oriented to understand the narrative construction about aging and old age in sexually diverse old people in the city of Bogotá, based on their life experience and social discourses around sexual orientation and identity and old age, with the in order to make visible the emergence of new stories that contribute to their recognition through a qualitative methodology, through a biographical method. We worked with adults, over 57 years old, sexually diverse, residents in the city of Bogotá, selected from a sampling for opportunity and convenience, taking into account the saturation point. The collection of information was carried out through the life story, and subsequently, the constructed information was analyzed through discourse analysis; This, due to the importance of the discourse within the epistemological perspective of social constructionism. Obtaining as a result, that the participants have built meanings around old age and aging that are evidenced by a stable narrative; in relation to sexual orientation, it is found in terms of progressive narratives.
