The materials used for making acrylic provisional prosthetic restorations have different physical properties such as wear resistance, compressive strength, susceptibility to pigmentation, exothermic reaction during polymerization, etc., making the most demanding selection of optimum material that meets the mechanical and biological requirements necessary at this stage of the rehabilitation process. The study of compressive strength in materials often used for partial denture provisional fixed is of great importance if we consider that these devices are subjected to heavy and constant load during chewing and often fractures occur leading serious financial losses and inconvenience to the patient. Also to be in contact with all fluids we consume, these materials tend to be pigmented, thus changing its original appearance, changing the team which performed the interim. Another important consequence is that the exotherm may occur with these materials during manufacture, these changes being harmful to dental tissues temperature. The aim of this study is to compare some of the products currently on the market for the development of provisional and provide clinical evidence to enable it to make an appropriate selection in order to reduce the disadvantages that most often occur, lower long-term pigmentation offering a better aesthetic patient comfort, greater resistance to reduce the number of repairs during the treatment process and manipulate materials with a range of security to prevent damage vital pulp. Further study is realized in vitro on sample disks of each brand of acrylic resin.spa
