Resumen
El estudio de los ecosistemas requiere de un enfoque multidisciplinario, que nos permite mirar los diferentes fenómenos con la perspectiva de que todo está unido entre ellos. La ecología es, por tanto, una Ciencia de síntesis. La química, la física, la geografía, por no mencionar sino unas, son ciencias que el ecólogo debe estudiar para poder entender muchos fenómenos vivientes. Debido a que el hombre es un componente importante de los ecosistemas, ya que ha desarrollado una gran capacidad para transformarlos, el concepto de ecosistema ocupa una posición central no solo en el campo de las ciencias naturales, sino también en el campo de las ciencias sociales. Por esta razón, nos hemos propuesto, a lo largo del desarrollo del libro, resaltar la
intervención del hombre en los diferentes ecosistemas.
El presente libro está dividido en seis unidades. La primera unidad se refiere a la presentación de los conceptos básicos de ecología. La segunda unidad trata sobre los niveles de organización e interacción del mundo viviente. La tercera unidad estudia la trayectoria de la materia y de la energía en los ecosistemas. La cuarta unidad aborda el estudio descriptivo de los factores bióticos que forman parte del ecosistema. La quinta unidad presenta la distribución de los seres vivos en el mundo, y la sexta unidad considera los recursos naturales, su agotamiento y contaminación. El propósito general de/libro es dar al estudiante los conceptos básicos, para entender los principios en los cuales se ha desarrollado la vida sobre la tierra y que aún se siguen desarrollando.
Abstract
The study of ecosystems requires a multidisciplinary approach, which allows us to look at different phenomena with the perspective that everything is linked to each other. Ecology is, therefore, a Science of synthesis. Chemistry, physics, geography, to mention but a few, are sciences that the ecologist must study in order to understand many living phenomena. Because man is an important component of ecosystems, since he has developed a great capacity to transform them, the concept of ecosystem occupies a central position not only in the field of natural sciences, but also in the field of social sciences. For this reason, throughout the development of the book, we have proposed to highlight the human intervention in different ecosystems.
This book is divided into six units. The first unit refers to the presentation of the basic concepts of ecology. The second unit deals with the levels of organization and interaction of the living world. The third unit studies the trajectory of matter and energy in ecosystems. The fourth unit deals with the descriptive study of the biotic factors that are part of the ecosystem. The fifth unit presents the distribution of living beings in the world, and the sixth unit considers natural resources, their depletion and pollution. The general purpose of this book is to give the student the basic concepts, to understand the principles in which life on earth has developed and is still developing.
