Costura urbana Entre Hilos

Abstract

Violence, which permeated Medellín and it exploded in the 80s decade, where it marked to a big socio-cultural breakdown, generating a negative exhibition of the city, having to redirect the population towards a new approach supported in the social function of architecture and urban planning.

Pablo Escobar neighborhood has lacks and problems which derivate in an obvious territorial, social, cultural and economic unbalance, giving place and opportunity to apply urban strategies that allows for unite the neighborhood with the city through the adaptation of the physical and functional territory's conditions.

The urban architectonic project Entre Hilos tries to balance the neighborhoods ambits by a community service equipment with educational vocation, supported in an interactive and pedagogical public space that allows evidence of the city transformation through daily and traditional facts of Medellin neighborhoods, providing an integral support to the traditional's knowledge from people, where it is allowed to teach the community towards new alternatives to strengthen the education and economy of households.
