Abstract

For the fifth consecutive year, the Bibliometric Bulletin highlights the continuous growth in the intellectual production of the Santo Tomás University, which reflects its commitment to the generation of new knowledge and the constant improvement in production and impact indicators.

In this edition of the newsletter, we focus on a time window spanning the last three years of USTA research production. In this period, there has been a notable increase in high-impact production, which demonstrates the dedication and quality of the institution's research work. It is essential to highlight the collaborative work between various areas of the Santo Tomás University, which have been focused on seeking normalization and the unique profile of the institution in the different citation indexes. Until now, much of the production was associated with disparate profiles that did not accurately reflect the actions and real impact of the university in the field of research.

This edition of the Bibliometric Bulletin covers the sections that have become traditional in this report, including the analysis of research production from the traditional and alternative currents, the behavior of the academic journals in which USTA research is published, the new developments around patents that have emerged as a result of the institution's innovative work, and one of the new initiatives around open science. This latest initiative represents a fundamental strategy to open the knowledge generated by the university to all interested communities, promoting collaboration and dissemination of research in a spirit of openness and transparency.
