Abstract

This document presents the results of the first stage of our research project on competencies, during which we gathered the opinions and reflections of a significant group of Mexican higher education managers on the competencies they consider essential for the performance of their duties. The report consists of four sections: The first consists of a brief description of key concepts that allowed us to introduce the Focus Group members to the discussions. The second section deals with the organization of the focus group and its operation, while the third section systematically presents the results of the discussions that took place during the meeting as well as the findings related to the group exercise that are relevant to the overall research project.
