During the last thirty years, Latin America has made significant progress in education coverage. Process that for some political sectors has been a conquest that ensures greater equity and social equality in the region. The present writing, critically analyzes this postulate from two axes of discussion: the increase of social gaps between the richest and the poorest, through educational quality, and, the lack of assurance of educability conditions that fully accompany the policies of enrollment expansion.
