Producción científica sobre salud y seguridad en el trabajo: Revisión bibliométrica y su aporte al ODS 8 (Trabajo decente y crecimiento económico)

Abstract

This study analyzes global scientific production on occupational health and safety (OHS) from the perspective of Sustainable Development Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), employing advanced bibliometric analysis techniques with data sourced from Web of Science over the period 2010–2024. Based on the analysis of 103 documents, three main thematic areas were clearly identified: promotion of healthy work environments, prevention of occupational risks through emerging technologies, and the importance of psychosocial well-being. Significant gaps in scientific production were also evident, highlighting a predominant concentration of publications in developed countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany, while Latin America and Africa exhibit limited participation. Influential authors identified include Jukka Takala, Stavroula Leka, and Paul Schulte, recognized as key references in OHS research. The study specifically contributes to existing literature by providing an updated mapping of institutional collaboration networks and identifying knowledge gaps that need addressing through public policies and international cooperation. From a practical standpoint, the findings serve to guide future research and effective implementation of OHS strategies, thus advancing SDG 8 from a comprehensive, interdisciplinary, and global perspective.
