This research evaluates the environmental and energy viability of technologies for pig manure treatment according to the climatic conditions of the regions of Colombia. It was developed using a qualitative, descriptive, and comparative approach based on a documentary review of scientific and technical literature, environmental regulations, and institutional documents. The study was structured into three phases: identification and characterization of treatment technologies; analysis of the climatic conditions of the Caribbean, Pacific, Andean, Orinoquía, Amazon, and Insular regions; and a multicriteria assessment of their viability considering environmental performance, energy potential, operational complexity, applicability, and climatic adaptation. The results showed that anaerobic digestion technologies present the best overall performance, as they allow for the reduction of organic load and energy recovery through biogas production. The most notable alternatives include CSTR reactors, plug-flow digesters, and two-phase anaerobic digesters. Regionalization showed that temperature, precipitation, humidity, water availability, and altitude influence technology selection. It is concluded that pig manure constitutes a resource with potential for environmental and energy recovery, and that its treatment should be selected considering the specific conditions of each region.
