Abstract

The crisis of the producers as well as the surrounding municipalities is due to the low productivity of the cocoa sector. According to the National Cocoa Census, the yields in Landázuri are 248 Kg./Ha, in other municipalities of the Department (San Vicente and Carmen de Chucurí) the approximate average is 420 / Kg ./. Ha. The technology in the crop is determined by the type of material used, the planting density, the age of the plantations and especially by the number, frequency and timely execution of the cultural practices carried out. According to this last criterion, the level of technology can be classified as follows:  Low technology: harvest, weed and pruning control  Medium Technology: Harvest, weed control pruning and some of the work corresponding to monilla and Fitoptora control, broom control, shady pruning, monalonium control and other pests.  High Technology: Harvest, weed control, pruning, monilla and phytoptora control, broom control, shady pruning, monalonium control and other pests. The input that most influences the technological level is the workforce, so there is a situation in which it is observed that in the farms with less extension of the crop there is greater management, and as the cultivated area grows, the technological level decreases, therefore the following aspects are essential for this project.  Genetic material used Sowing density  Plantation age  Phytosanitary Problems
