Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Estudio de factibilidad para la producción de ensilaje de maíz (zea mays) como suplementación en la alimentación bovina(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-04-15) Barreto García, Juan Sebastian; Prieto Delgadillo, Mario Fernando; Univeridad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001588923; https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=es&user=X7E38GAAAAAJ; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5564-0011This study assessed the technical, economic, and productive feasibility of implementing a maize silage (Zea mays) production system as a strategic feed supplementation alternative for cattle in the municipality of San José del Guaviare, Colombia. An applied methodological approach was adopted, including the establishment of 10 hectares of hybrid maize under local agronomic conditions, the application of SiloPress bagging technology for silage production, and the evaluation of variables such as crop management, forage conservation efficiency, production cost structure, and market demand. The results demonstrate the economic viability of the project, with a benefit-cost ratio of 1.79 and a breakeven point achieved with the commercialization of only 11.4% of the projected output (350 tons). A survey conducted among local cattle producers revealed a strong market acceptance, with 100% expressing willingness to purchase silage during periods of forage scarcity. It is concluded that the implementation of a technically sound maize silage system constitutes an efficient and sustainable strategy to enhance bovine nutrition, reduce vulnerability to climatic seasonality, and improve the resilience of regional livestock systems.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Modelo de Producción de la Ganadería Lechera del Grupo MAULEC (México)(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-03-26) Rentería Correa, Karol Andrea; Duque Duque, Jader; Pérez, José Amable; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001692588; https://scholar.google.es/scholar?hl=es&as_sdt=0%2C5&q=Amable+Jos%C3%A9+P%C3%A9rez&oq=Ama; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9777-9297This monograph systematizes the established and technified dairy farming production model of the Maulec Group in Nopalucan, Puebla (Mexico), observed during the International In-depth Seminar in May 2024 by students of the Agricultural Business Administration Program at the University of Santo Tomás, Villavicencio campus. It describes its key components: feeding with own silage (60% diet, 45 L/cow/day in 3,500 Holstein), DeLaval automated milking (3 sessions/day), proactive health control (mastitis <2%), reproduction by sexed AI (65% pregnancy), Afimilk digital records, and sustainability (methane CH₄ -25%, SQF Level 3), generating 1.3 million L/day with an IRR of 22%. The visit revealed an efficient and sustainable integrated system, aligned with NOM-251SSA1-2006 and equivalent to global good livestock practices (GLP), which optimizes resources (a cow consumes an average of 1.5 kg of dry feed per liter of milk, i.e., they have an FCE of 1.5 kg DM/L and 70% recycled water is used) and positions Maulec as a Latin American benchmark. This analysis responds to specific description and evaluation objectives, contributing to academic knowledge on transferable intensive models.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Modelo de negocios de parcelamiento rural turístico Serranía del Yucao de gran tours en Puerto Gaitán, Meta(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-02-03) Niño Giraldo, Luis Camilo; Amable Pérez, José; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001692588; https://scholar.google.es/scholar?hl=es&as_sdt=0%2C5&q=Amable+Jos%C3%A9+P%C3%A9rez&oq=Ama; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9777-9297This study aims to design a rural tourism subdivision business model based on circular economy principles for the San Camilo property in Puerto Gaitán (Meta), with a view to diversifying the local economy and promoting sustainable rural development. A quantitative approach of exploratory, descriptive, and correlational scope was adopted, combined with documentary analysis, semi-structured interviews, and field observation to characterize demand and territorial conditions. The financial analysis also includes a cost-benefit analysis and a discounted cash flow model. The result is a proposed configuration of 50 plots of land each measuring 3,000 square meters, equipped with eco-innovative cabins and a circular waste, rainwater, and solar energy management system. From a social and environmental perspective, the model strengthens the participation of local stakeholders and promotes tourism practices that contribute to biodiversity conservation. Thus, while technical and environmental viability is supported by the circular design, full investment recovery requires a timeframe of more than two years. As such, this framework offers a replicable reference for sustainable tourism projects in rural regions of the Orinoquía region.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Educación, empleabilidad y emprendimiento: Aportes de los egresados del Programa de Administración de Empresas Agropecuarias de la USTA Villavicencio al desarrollo regional(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-12-17) Cano Ariza, Doraly; Prieto Delgadillo, Mario Fernando; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001588923; https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=es&user=X7E38GAAAAAJ; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5564-0011This research analyzed the contributions of graduates from the Agropecuary Business Administration program at the Universidad Santo Tomás—Villavicencio to the regional development of Meta department. To this end, a quantitative approach was adopted, complemented by qualitative elements, using data collection techniques through a structured online instrument. The research design was descriptive and exploratory, which allowed for the identification of patterns, the generation of knowledge, and the documentation of understudied phenomena within the regional agro—entrepreneurial context. The analysis characterized the professional performance of graduates who earned their degrees between 2015 and 2024, considering their employability, entrepreneurial initiatives, and their economic and social contributions to the region. The findings highlight the relevance of higher education in strengthening professional competencies, as well as its positive effect on the development of innovative initiatives and the dynamization of the local agro–entrepreneurial sector. Finally, recommendations were proposed to strengthen the link between university, industry, and territory; promote a sustainable, inclusive, and competitive regional development model; and consolidate graduates’ employability and entrepreneurship. These findings reinforce the concept of the virtuous circle of the 3Es: Education, Employability, and Entrepreneurship, demonstrating graduates’ capacity to generate positive and sustainable impacts in their territory, contributing to regional economic and social development.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Plan de mejoramiento para establecimiento de comidas rapidas en el municipio de Puerto Lleras, Meta(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-08-28) Casallas Parra, Henry Alberto; Carrillo García, Hellman Eduardo; universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001470364; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=uP2IuscAAAAJ&hl=es; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1356-1993This study addresses the situation of the fast-food establishment 'Perros Beto' in Puerto Lleras, Meta, a business with strong local recognition whose sustainability is threatened by structural weaknesses such as informality and high dependence on the owner. The main objective was to design a comprehensive improvement plan that integrates the administrative, financial, operational, and marketing areas to strengthen its competitiveness. The methodology used a mixed-methods approach, combining a self-diagnosis by the owner through tools like the SWOT matrix and the Canvas model, with a quantitative analysis based on the perception of 188 surveyed customers. The results confirmed that the business's main strength is its high-quality product with an artisanal recipe, but they also revealed critical deficiencies in legal formalization, financial control, and process standardization. As a result, a two-phase improvement plan was formulated: the first focused on stabilizing and formalizing the current operation, and the second on consolidation and strategic growth. This plan constitutes a roadmap to transform 'Perros Beto' from a self-employment venture into an organized, scalable company prepared for future expansions.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Estudio de Prefactibilidad para la Creación de un Vivero de Monserrate Ubicado en la Ciudad de Bogotá(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2018) Banquez Martínez, Uber Enrique; Universidad Santo TomásTipo de ítem: Ítem , Creación de una Empresa de Consultoría en Temas Ambientales Ecoconsultores(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2018) Valencia Cardona, James Augusto; Universidad Santo TomásTipo de ítem: Ítem , Análisis del Potencial, Sostenibilidad y Rentabilidad en la Cría de Ganado Charoláis Mediante el Sistema de Pastoreo Racional Voisin en la Finca Carrizal del Municipio de Bojacá (Cundinamarca)(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2024-10-07) Cruz Molina, Miguel Francisco; Nivia Osuna, Alexander; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000268917; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002259347; https://orcid.org/0009-0005-1135-866XThe aim of this degree project is to evaluate the breeding of Charolais cattle on the Carrizal Farm, located in the municipality of Bojacá (Cundinamarca), based on the implementation of the Voisin rational grazing system. It also focuses on estimating this livestock practice as a suitable alternative for application on cattle farms that wish to increase production in their animals and make appropriate management of pastures and natural resources. It also seeks to determine the economic viability and sustainability, considering a responsible and environmentally friendly management. It deals with the production of Charolais cattle, characterised by their large size and robustness, thus becoming an attractive option for the production of high quality meat. The Voisin Rational Grazing System has been presented as an innovative technique, the purpose of which is to optimise the use of pastures as well as to improve soil health and maintain animal welfare through proper management of grazing and resting time. The research includes a detailed analysis of production costs, income generated and the profitability of the system, as well as the identification of practices that contribute to the sustainability of the environment. The results indicate that the implementation of this system not only improves livestock productivity, but also promotes the conservation of natural resources, ensuring the long-term economic viability of the project. This work contributes to the knowledge on Charolais cattle breeding in Colombia and offers recommendations for the adoption of sustainable livestock practices that benefit both producers and the environment.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Estudio de Prefactibilidad para un Centro de Reentrenamiento y Ente Certificador para el Trabajo Seguro en Alturas.(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2024) Castro Ardila, Carlos Manuel; Zuluaga Huertas, Juan Pablo; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001481700; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=9lJtfekAAAAJ&hl=es&authuser=1; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2638-0462The objective of this work is to carry out a pre-feasibility study of a retraining center for safe work at heights in the municipality of Villavicencio, Meta. It seeks to be part of the agro-industry transformation and commercialization of cocoa in which the broad participation of agricultural communities of small producers is expected, providing services that benefit not only the same company but a community in general. Different aspects were taken into account for the plant design, such as location, plant distribution, and logistics, competitiveness, financial and technical market analyses were also carried out for the preparation of this study and the information collected turns out to be satisfactory to undertake with this business idea.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Estudio de Caso Empresa Agroturística la Kumbre(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2023-11-10) Urrea Beltrán, Héctor Gustavo; Rodríguez López, Gabriel Francisco; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001410759; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8846-7139It contains a case study about a family business carried out in a municipality of Cundinamarca, where the survey is carried out based on a description of the process and from them, lessons learned, recommendations and conclusions are proposed.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Propuesta de Evaluación Estratégica para el Fortalecimiento Competitivo de las Mi Pymes Agroindustriales, mediante un SGI-ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015, 45001:2018, en la Ciudad de Valledupar(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2023-10-11) Lamilla Castillo, Edwin Alfonso; Castaño Martíne, Camilo Antonio; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=es&user=quiNsy8AAAAJ; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7983-8417Currently in Colombia, an Integrated Management System (IMS) based on the ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015, and 45001:2018 standards is being implemented. This is aimed at enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), which constitute 90% of the country's businesses, contributing to job creation and production. The economy of the city of Valledupar relies on livestock, agriculture, services, and mining. MSMEs face challenges in terms of limited resources, lack of business experience, poor marketing, limited innovation, and a lack of strategic partnerships. However, they can overcome these limitations by targeting market niches, improving their business education, investing in marketing, and exploring innovation and alliances. MSMEs in Valledupar have demonstrated a lack of focus on implementing marketing plans and fostering innovation. While some have adopted strategies to enhance their market position, there are also obstacles such as bureaucratic processes to access financial support and the family-business relationship. Given this context, it is imperative to analyze how MSMEs in Valledupar approach marketing plans and how they can enhance their competitiveness in the market, addressing challenges such as resource constraints, resistance to change, and a lack of support in training and business education.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Estudio De Caso: Inversiones Layton Lopez Y CIA S EN C(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2023-06-20) Laiton Daza, Laura Jimena; Peñaloza Albarracín, Diego Fernel; García Méndez, Sebastián; Universidad Santo TomásThis case study analyzes five fundamental areas within any company, in this opportunity for the company Inversiones Layton Lopez Y CIA S EN C, the areas of Marketing, Finance, Negotiation, Management and Projects, and once identified the problems of the area of greatest impact within the organization, an improvement strategy is proposed in which the objective, activities, responsible and necessary indicators for control are included.
