Esta investigación aborda de manera concisa un resultado investigativo del barrio laureles y sus viviendas fomentando la importancia del umbral en la vida social de sus residentes y haciendo un buen entendimiento de los elementos arquitectónicos que le dan ese aire de modernidad. La relevancia de las viviendas se analiza a través de características puntuales que comparten entre si y las sustentan como referentes de valor arquitectónico en la ciudad de Medellín, haciendo un buen empleo de los recursos históricos del barrio e identificando tres casos de estudio para el contenido textual e investigativo, dejando claridad en el concepto de umbral como actúa en estas diferenciaciones de ambientes exteriores e interiores, conectando el exterior la calle, con la intimidad de la vivienda misma. Normalmente es un espacio físico tal como un antejardín, un patio, un porche un vestíbulo, que, si bien lleva implícitas ciertas características de uso, desarrolla también carácter, separación, acogida. Las tres viviendas escogidas se analizan a través del acceso el antejardín, la fachada, las actividades en el umbral y el paisajismo para dar un mayor entendimiento de esos conceptos contemporáneos que sustentaron las bases de las viviendas y le han permitido conservarse en la actualidad.
Abstract
This research concisely addresses a research result of the Laureles neighborhood and its homes, highlighting the importance of the threshold in the social life of it residents and providing a thorough understanding of the architectural elements that give it its air of modernity. The relevance of the homes is analyzed through specific characteristics they share, supporting them as architectural landmarks in the city of Medellin. The neighborhood' historical resources are utilized effectively, and three case studies are identified for the textual and research content. This study clarifies the concept of the threshold as it acts in these differentiations between exterior and interior environments, connecting the exterior (the street) with he intimacy of the home itself. Typically, it is a physical space, such as a front garden, a patio, a porch, or a foyer which, while implicitly carrying certain characteristics of use, also develops character, separation, and welcome The three selected homes are analyzed through their entrance, front garden, façade, activities at the threshold, and landscaping to provide a better understanding of the contemporary concepts that underpinned the homes foundations and have allowed them to survive today.
