El centro fundacional de Restrepo (Meta) concentra viviendas tradicionales que fueron relevantes en el proceso de fundación y consolidación del municipio desde 1915. Estas edificaciones son un registro material de la historia del municipio, albergando técnicas constructivas, lenguajes arquitectónicos y memorias de los Restrepenses. Tras más de un siglo de construcción de las viviendas, el municipio ha promovido integrarlas a la Lista Indicativa de Candidatos a Bienes de Interés Cultural (LIC-BIC) como futuros inmuebles patrimoniales del departamento del Meta. Sin embargo, a su vez las edificaciones están pasando por un proceso de transformación por: presiones comerciales, reconfiguración de la composición del hogar y cambios de vocación del centro fundacional. Todo ello ha desencadenado en la reconfiguración de usos y cambios en la estructura formal. Esto ha dejado en la disyuntiva sobre la documentación del patrimonio residencial edificado de Restrepo y el futuro patrimonial del municipio.
Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, esta investigación analiza la evolución de dichos tipos edificatorios a partir del estudio de seis casas. Esta investigación de carácter cualitativa se estructura en tres etapas. La primera corresponde a la documentación de las alteraciones de las edificaciones a partir del registro arquitectónico y caracterización de los inmuebles, mediante visitas de campo, entrevistas y fichas de registro arquitectónico complementadas con planos y modelos 3D. La segunda corresponde a la descripción de los cambios desde la lectura de sus habitantes y residentes del sector a partir de ejercicios de entrevistas semiestructuradas y talleres con grupos focales. La tercera corresponde a la definición de los tipos de transformaciones representativas de las viviendas a partir del cruce entre la información histórica y física.
El estudio, por una parte, visibiliza expresiones arquitectónicas locales omitidas en los instrumentos de planificación, por otra, documenta comparativamente seis casos y produce insumos concretos que pueden incorporarse en futuras actualizaciones del PBOT para orientar decisiones técnicas que respeten la lógica espacial y el valor cultural de cada inmueble.
Abstract
The founding center of Restrepo (Meta) contains traditional houses that played a significant role in the foundation and consolidation process of the municipality since 1915. These buildings constitute a material record of the municipality’s history, preserving construction techniques, architectural languages, and the memories of the inhabitants of Restrepo. After more than a century since the construction of these houses, the municipality has promoted their inclusion in the Indicative List of Candidates for Cultural Heritage Assets (LIC-BIC) as future heritage properties of the Meta department. However, at the same time, these buildings are undergoing a transformation process due to commercial pressures, the reconfiguration of household composition, and changes in the functions of the founding center. All of this has triggered a reconfiguration of uses and modifications in their formal structure. This situation has raised concerns regarding the documentation of Restrepo’s built residential heritage and the municipality’s heritage future.
Considering the above, this research analyzes the evolution of these building typologies through the study of six houses. This qualitative research is structured into three stages. The first stage focuses on documenting the alterations of the buildings through architectural recording and property characterization, using field visits, interviews, and architectural survey sheets complemented by plans and 3D models. The second stage describes the changes from the perspective of inhabitants and residents of the area through semi-structured interviews and focus group workshops. The third stage defines the representative types of housing transformations by cross-referencing historical and physical information.
On the one hand, the study highlights local architectural expressions that have been overlooked in planning instruments; on the other hand, it comparatively documents six case studies and produces concrete inputs that may be incorporated into future updates of the PBOT in order to guide technical decisions that respect the spatial logic and cultural value of each property.
