El tipo de artículo seleccionado para la búsqueda fueron de ensayos clínicos, controlados y controlado aleatorio publicados en inglés y español en el periodo comprendido entre el 2005-2020 y que la disponibilidad del texto fuera completo gratis. dc.description.abstractThe elderly is any person over 60 years of age who goes through an aging process that is in the last stage of life. Of the changes that the literature shows with the highest prevalence in older adults are the changes that occur in functional physical capacities, which determine the state of health and quality of life in this population. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is a type of sports training based on short and very intense interval sessions that alternate effort and recovery, which has been positioned with high acceptance, which, there is a wide range of scientific studies, which include sports training, physical exercise, health, and recreation. The objective of this monograph is to expose the effect of interval exercise on functional physical capacities in the elderly. A bibliographic review of scientific studies was carried out in the PubMed and Google Scholar database. The type of article selected for the search was from clinical, controlled, and randomized controlled trials published in English and Spanish in the period between 2005-2020 and that the full text was available free of charge.
