El presente artículo de investigación cuenta con el objetivo de exponer cuál es la relevancia de las inversiones chinas en tecnología 5G en América Latina para su estrategia de influencia regional en países como Uruguay entre 2019-2023. La importancia de este fenómeno parte en 2019 cuando se dio a conocer al mundo los proyectos que se llevarían a cabo en términos de infraestructura, y financiados mayormente por China, quién en la actualidad se encuentra en una relación bilateral con Uruguay activa, debido a la integración de la tecnología 5G en el país latinoamericano. Para lograrlo, se analizarán las inversiones de China en tecnologías 5G en América Latina, como componente de su estrategia de influencia regional, seguidamente, se describirán las relaciones claves de inversión en el campo de la tecnología 5G que tiene China sobre Uruguay durante el periodo 2019-2023, y, por último, se identificarán los elementos que influyen en el interés de China por invertir en Uruguay a través de la instalación de tecnología 5G por medio de la relación bilateral presente. La metodología por aplicar será desde un enfoque descriptivo, el cual es un tipo de método que le pertenece al área de investigación cualitativa, y consistirá en la recolección, examinación y presentación de datos asociados a la relación bilateral entre China y Uruguay, siendo la base que permitirá brindar un desarrollo teórico y contextual sobre las relaciones entre países y la instalación de tecnologías avanzadas como la 5G.
Abstract
This research article has the objective of exposing the relevance of Chinese investments in 5G technology in Latin America for its regional influence strategy in countries like Uruguay between 2019-2023. The importance of this phenomenon started in 2019 when the projects that would be carried out in terms of infrastructure were made known to the world, and financed mainly by China, which is currently in an active bilateral relationship with Uruguay, due to the integration of 5G technology in the Latin American country. To achieve this, China's investments in 5G technologies in Latin America will be analyzed, as a component of its regional influence strategy. The critical investment relationships in the field of 5G technology that China has over Uruguay during the 2019 period will be described. -2023, and finally, the elements that influence China's interest in investing in Uruguay through the installation of 5G technology from the present bilateral relationship will be identified. The methodology to be applied will be carried out with the use of a descriptive approach, which is a type of method that belongs to the qualitative research area and will consist of the collection, examination, and presentation of data associated with the bilateral relationship between China and Uruguay, being the basis that will allow providing a theoretical and contextual development on relations between countries and the installation of advanced technologies such as 5G.
