Este proyecto se enfoca en analizar el potencial del turismo cultural en la ciudad de Sogamoso, ubicada en Boyacá. A pesar de su rica historia y valioso patrimonio cultural, la ciudad ha estado mayormente centrada en actividades como la siderurgia, la minería y la agricultura, lo que ha limitado su incursión en el mercado turístico. Para abordar esta situación, se llevó a cabo una investigación cualitativa exhaustiva, en la que se analizaron diversos factores para determinar el estado actual del turismo cultural en Sogamoso. Además, se realizaron entrevistas que brindaron una comprensión más precisa de la situación turística
en la región, revelando una oportunidad desaprovechada para generar ingresos y participación a nivel internacional, de igual manera, la investigación resalta que a pesar del importante potencial cultural de Sogamoso, este sector carece del respaldo institucional necesario para avanzar. En este sentido, se sugiere que la estrategia más viable sería que la gobernación
implemente enfoques destinados al desarrollo turístico de la región, reconociendo la necesidad de un mayor apoyo para potenciar este valioso recurso.
Abstract
This project focuses on analyzing the potential of cultural tourism in the city of Sogamoso, located in Boyacá. Despite its rich history and valuable cultural heritage, the The city has been largely focused on activities such as steel, mining and
agriculture, which has limited its incursion into the tourism market. To address this situation, an exhaustive qualitative investigation was carried out, in which the various factors to determine the current state of cultural tourism in Sogamoso. Besides,
interviews were conducted that provided a more precise understanding of the tourism situation in the region, revealing a missed opportunity to generate income and participation At the international level, likewise, the research highlights that despite the importance cultural potential of Sogamoso, this sector lacks the institutional support necessary to advance. In this sense, it is suggested that the most viable strategy would be for the government implement approaches aimed at tourism development in the region, recognizing the need for greater support to enhance this valuable resource.
