Resumen
El TALLER 1enUNO es un curso del primer semestre del pregrado en arquitectura de la Universidad Santo Tomás, sede Medellín, cuyo objetivo gira en torno a la fundamentación en temas de composición dirigido a los estudiantes de nuevo ingreso.
Es el espacio académico correspondiente al taller de proyectos pero con un matiz diferente: la estructuración y materialización de las ideas a través de una práctica pedagógica que plantea nuevos retos y reflexiones a la forma tradicional de la enseñanza de la arquitectura, partiendo de la realidad como un medio de aproximación, conceptualización y materialización de la idea arquitectónica con un alto compromiso ético, técnico y poético desde la institución hacia sus estudiantes y de éstos hacia la sociedad.
Esta es la tercera versión del taller (en la primera 2018-1 se diseñaron y construyeron 3 pabellones de exposiciones para el Medellín Design Week; en la segunda 2018-2 se diseñaron y construyeron 2 prototipos de mobiliario para las zonas exteriores del proyecto ALTIUS), y para esta versión, en un esfuerzo por articular las tres funciones sustantivas de la Institución e impactar de manera positiva a una comunidad, se decidió llevar el ejercicio a la Urbanización Villa Flor en el municipio de Argelia bajo la temática de “espacios de sombra y mobiliario urbano” que contribuyan a mejorar la calidad del espacio urbano y la habitabilidad de lugar.
Abstract
The 1inUNO WORKSHOP is a course of the first semester of the undergraduate architecture in the Santo Tomás University, Medellín campus, whose objective revolves around the foundation in composition topics aimed at new students.
It is the academic space corresponding to the project workshop but with a different nuance: the structuring and materialization of ideas through a pedagogical practice that poses new challenges and reflections on the traditional way of teaching architecture, starting from reality as a means of approach, conceptualization and materialization of the architectural idea with a high ethical, technical and poetic commitment from the institution to its students and from them to society.
This is the third version of the workshop (in the first 2018-1 3 exhibition pavilions were designed and built for the Medellín Design Week; in the second 2018-2 2 prototypes of furniture were designed and built for the exterior areas of the ALTIUS project) , and for this version, in an effort to articulate the three substantive functions of the Institution and positively impact a community, it was decided to bring the exercise to the Villa Flor Urbanization in the municipality of Algeria under the theme of “shadow spaces and urban furniture ”that contribute to improving the quality of the urban space and the habitability of the place.
