The Social Appropriation of Knowledge was implemented at Balbino García School as a strategy for dialogue between researchers, students, teachers, and administrators to strengthen school coexistence. Through participatory methodologies, scientific knowledge was articulated with the knowledge of the educational community, allowing for the identification of problems, the construction of collective solutions, and the joint validation of applied strategies. The process included community assessment spaces, recreational activities, Golombiao tournaments, and virtual reality experiences, conceived not as external interventions, but as scenarios for the circulation and redefinition of knowledge. The community took an active role in adapting the proposals and providing constant feedback, which enriched the activity and ensured its local relevance. The sharing of results and the incorporation of student and teacher narratives strengthened the appropriation of coexistence practices, generating collective learning that transcends the research. In short, this PASC demonstrated that the combination of scientific knowledge, technological tools, sports activities, and spaces for dialogue fosters the sustainability of educational initiatives, establishing them in the school's collective memory and becoming a replicable model for other school settings.

The process allowed for the identification of recurring eye conditions related to exposure to agrochemicals and promoted the adoption of preventive practices such as the use of protective eyewear, eye lubricant, and attendance at annual optometry checkups. The strategies were adapted to the conditions of the rural environment, using educational materials with a differentiated, fun, and culturally relevant approach, generating community ownership and transformation. The results show that this is an effective strategy for transforming rural farmers' vision health issues, strengthening local capacities, and generating a positive impact on eye disease prevention and agricultural productivity

The project "Interactive Experience for the Appreciation of Earth Architecture through the Ephemeral Wall" was consolidated as an exercise in the social appropriation of knowledge by actively engaging the academic community, visiting public, and stakeholders from the Bucaramanga Museum of Modern Art in understanding, experimenting with, and reflecting on earth architecture as a cultural heritage. The ephemeral work "The Wall" as a museum installation generated a space for dialogue, learning, and awareness, allowing visitors to interact with the materials, processes, and meanings of this construction tradition. The immersive and educational experience during the wall exhibition served as an open laboratory where visitors could explore the history, techniques, and principles of earth architecture through observation and participation in the construction process. QR codes (exhibition fact sheets) were incorporated to expand the information and foster a more dynamic learning experience. During the construction phase, open sessions were held where students, teachers, and the general public participated in the earth compaction process, promoting the transmission of knowledge through practice. Finally, over time, the collapse of the wall (its fall due to interaction with external environmental factors) was understood not as a loss, but as a transformation. This outcome not only symbolizes the life cycle in architecture, but also reinforces the intrinsic connection between the built and the natural. The Ephemeral Wall not only materialized an artistic and architectural manifestation, but also became a tool for the social appropriation of knowledge. Its construction process, interaction with the environment, and eventual disappearance opened up a new way of understanding earth architecture: not only as a vestige of the past, but as a living and sustainable response for the future. Spaces for conversation were generated among diverse actors, from heritage specialists to the general public, fostering the appreciation of traditional knowledge applied in contemporary contexts. The process was documented in digital and academic media, ensuring the continuity of learning beyond the physical facility.

Video guía para el registro de estrategias de CTeI en el SIIICCA
    (2024-02-19) Rodríguez López, Hellen Geneth
Santo Tomás University presents the video for registering science, technology, and innovation (CTeI) strategies in the SIIICCA application. This guide aims to promote effective registration of strategies and facilitate comprehension for users who register in the application. It provides access to updated information on the step-by-step process of registering strategies. The guide describes the details from logging into the SIIICCA application to filling out each of the data requested in the form and ends with the strategy duly registered. It should be noted that the video guide is applicable to the CTeI training strategies that can be registered in the SIIICCA application, which are: • Study Groups: They articulate the problem cores and research lines through classroom projects. • Academic Groups: They foster links between Santo Tomás University and the State, the productive sector, the government, and the community. • Work Groups: They strengthen international cooperation networks and involve students, teachers, professors, lecturers, graduates, and interns from other higher education institutions. • Research Seedbeds: They train and promote a research culture in young people who wish to start their academic research career. Registering strategies in the application allows for better traceability of these strategies since there is access to current information. This facilitates the process of measuring indicators of the Bucaramanga section regarding CTeI strategies.

As older adult population increases, aging is a topic of particular relevance for challenges at political, economic, social and cultural levels. In Colombia, people over 60 years account for 10% of the population and it is within the most vulnerable groups due to factors such as poor education, poverty and disability (Profamilia, 2011). This paper is the systematization of an intervention experience held in Chapinero and Suba localities (Bogotá, Colombia-South America), at four different levels (individual, family, community and institutional) and with the participation of students from seventh and eighth semesters of Psychology Program at the Santo Tomás University and the United Network Program. This work aimed to understand illness, disability and aging by reinforcing life skills to ensure health promotion, and focusing on resources that enable families to face and solve problems. To do this, a total of 60 students, seven co-managers of the United Network program and 30 families at psychosocial risk worked together through multilevel interventive actions for 4 months. The highlight of this experience is the phenomena of old age, disability and poverty understood from a cultural perspective, as it generates awareness of culture influence over different health situations, as well as sensitivity and interest in inter-organizational activities on promoting health area.
