Coteros con la vida al hombro: a la deriva de la seguridad social

Abstract

This investigation addresses the lack of labor and social guarantees and the absence of state protection of the Coteros union in the Corabatos power plant, since there are no previous studies that express a problem or a real solution that accounts for the situation of this population within the framework of informal labor. In this way, and based on public journalism, the aim is to make visible the conditions of the worker and the day-to-day life of this activity of low remuneration and little attention, but fundamental within the commercial process of the plaza and the city of Bogotá. In this sense, there is also a lack of attention from private entities and the State in cases of lack of protection and complaints from the Coteros; a problem not included in the public agenda and which lacks policies that integrate Labor Protection programs established by law 100.
