Transformación Digital de Procesos Financieros Mediante Power Query, Power Pivot y Power BI en Almacenes Corona S.A.S.

Abstract

During the professional internship in the Financial Planning Department at Almacenes Corona S.A.S., it was identified that the financial information consolidation and analysis processes were predominantly performed manually. This approach resulted in operational inefficiencies, increased the likelihood of human error, and limited the organization's ability to conduct comprehensive financial analyses. In response to these challenges, the primary reporting processes were automated through the implementation of Power Query and Power Pivot in Microsoft Excel. This initiative significantly reduced data consolidation time, enhanced the accuracy and reliability of financial information, and established a structured historical database that had not previously been available. Building upon these improvements, a corporate expense monitoring dashboard was designed and developed using Power BI. The dashboard enables each business area to monitor its expenditures against the allocated budget in real time through automated variance indicators, thereby supporting more effective financial control, decision-making, and budget management.
