El Turismo de Bienestar es un segmento del Turismo de Salud enfocado en brindar prevención, tratamiento y equilibrio de enfermedades, aprovechando el clima y las condiciones naturales que influyen en dichos tratamientos. Aunque menos visible que el turismo tradicional, el Turismo de Bienestar está tomando fuerza en Colombia, el cual se realiza con el fin de recibir diferentes tratamientos preventivos. El siguiente artículo surge de una revisión bibliográfica, y de la información recopilada durante la práctica universitaria realizada en la Secretaría de Cultura y Turismo de Boyacá y tiene como objetivo dar a conocer las principales oportunidades del Turismo de Bienestar que tiene el Departamento de Boyacá; concluyendo que a pesar de que el Departamento cuenta con los recursos naturales, los esfuerzos realizados no son suficientes para impulsar los destinos turísticos de Bienestar.
Abstract
Welfare Tourism is a segment of Health Tourism focused on providing prevention, treatment and balance of diseases, taking advantage of the climate and natural conditions that influence such treatments. Although less visible than traditional tourism, Welfare Tourism is taking hold in Colombia, which is done in order to receive different preventive treatments. The following article arises from a bibliographic review, and from the information collected during the university practice carried out in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Boyacá and aims to publicize the main opportunities of the Wellness Tourism that the Department of Boyacá has. Concluding that even though the Department has the natural resources, the efforts made are not sufficient to boost the tourist destinations of Wellness.
