Pasantía relleno sanitario Pirgua - Tunja

Abstract

This report brings together the internship activities carried out in 600 hours from December 3, 2015 to March 15, 2016. It describes step by step the realization and construction of the extension according to the plans, specifications and instructions from the designer for the Pirgua landfill in the city of Tunja. This sanitary landfill is located in the rural sector of the Pirgua village of the city of Tunja and is made up of 4 terraces, distributed as follows: in the highest part are located terraces 4, 3,2 and 1, located in descending way, then goes the dam and pondage A. The project was developed in its construction process, based on the design, a dike with a mixture of clay taken from the place, since this is a good waterproofing and top dressing giving a clay-top dressing mixture (70-30). It is used to contain garbage on terrace 1. Finally, the waterproofing was made in geomembrane and geotextile on terrace 1. In addition, polyethylene pipe with diameters between 10 ”and 8” was placed that connect to the A and B pondages that They are waterproofed with geo-membrane, in order to achieve an adequate management of leachates. It is important to emphasize that the place to carry out the expansion was chosen because it had a high content of clay in its soil, which contributed to the decrease in cost and also in the reduction of time and greater progress of the project.
