| dc.description | Introducción / Objetivo: Dubái ha presentado un auge del turismo sostenible muy fuerte, por lo que se explora si esta transformación representa una estrategia real de compromiso ambiental o una herramienta de branding que refuerza su posicionamiento global. En un contexto muy marcado por el cambio climático y las crecientes demandas éticas del turismo moderno, Dubái representa un caso paradigmático donde la sostenibilidad se entrelaza con el desarrollo, lujo e innovación Metodología: Para este análisis se realizó una investigación amplia y variada, donde se consultaron revistas, artículos, sitios web gubernamentales y se llevaron a cabo entrevistas a personas pertenecientes al sector turismo. Esta diversidad de fuentes permitió obtener un visión completa de cómo ha sido el crecimiento del turismo sostenible en Dubái. Resultados: Las iniciativas sostenibles en Dubái incluyen la prohibición de plásticos de un solo uso, la implementación de edificios con normativas verdes, el uso masivo de energía solar y proyectos de comunidades sostenibles. Además, se identificó una apropiación cultural del discurso sostenible por parte del personal del sector turismo, quienes integran estas prácticas como parte de su identidad profesional. Finalmente, se observó cómo estas acciones refuerzan el branding internacional del emirato, combinando la sostenibilidad con lujo y responsabilidad. Conclusiones: Dubái ha logrado traducir sus prácticas sostenibles en realidades tangibles que transforman tanto la infraestructura como la experiencia turística. La sostenibilidad, más allá de una exigencia ambiental, se convierte en una herramienta estratégica de diferenciación global. Este enfoque integral permite al emirato posicionarse como un destino moderno y responsable, alineado con los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible, fortaleciendo así su economía basada en el turismo sin renunciar a su identidad de innovación y vanguardia. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Introduction / Objetive: Dubai has experienced a significant rise in sustainable tourism, so we explore whether this transformation represents a genuine environmental commitment strategy or a branding tool that reinforces its global positioning. In a context marked by climate change and the growing ethical demands of modern tourism, Dubai represents a paradigmatic case where sustainability is intertwined with development, luxury, and innovation. Methodology: For this analysis, extensive and varied research was conducted, including magazines, articles, government websites, and interviews with individuals involved in the tourism sector. This diversity of sources provided a comprehensive view of the growth of sustainable tourism in Dubai. Results: Sustainable initiatives in Dubai include a ban on single-use plastics, the implementation of buildings with green regulations, the widespread use of solar energy, and projects such as the Sustainable City. Furthermore, a cultural appropriation of sustainable discourse was identified among tourism sector staff, who integrate these practices as part of their professional identity. Finally, it was observed how these actions reinforce the emirate's international branding, combining sustainability with luxury and responsibility. Conclusions: Dubai has managed to translate its sustainable practices into tangible realities that transform both its infrastructure and the tourist experience. Sustainability, beyond an environmental requirement, becomes a strategic tool for global differentiation. This comprehensive approach allows the emirate to position itself as a modern and responsible destination, aligned with the sustainable development goals, thus strengthening its tourism-based economy without sacrificing its innovative and cutting-edge identity. | |
